A Proposition for the DARTMOUTH SUMMERTIME STUDY TASK ON EXPERT SYSTEM

We suggest that a 2 month, 10 man research of artificial intelligence be executed during the summer season of 1956 at Dartmouth University in Hanover, New Hampshire. The research is to continue on the basis of the conjecture that every element of discovering or any kind of various other feature of knowledge can in principle be so specifically explained that a device can be made to mimic it. An effort will certainly be made to locate exactly how to make devices utilize language, kind abstractions and concepts, solve sort of problems currently reserved for humans, and enhance themselves. We think that a substantial development can be made in one or more of these issues if a meticulously chosen team of scientists work with it together for a summertime.
